Stability and a Successful Reentry

Oklahoma needs a robust and well-trained workforce. However, our state has one of the highest incarceration rates in the nation, which reduces the number of available workers.

After release, ex-offenders eager to rejoin the workforce often struggle to find employers willing to give them a second chance. They also face numerous barriers (e.g., tight restrictions of the types of jobs they can hold, excessive fines that are difficult to repay). This increases the likelihood of repeat offenders, shrinks the workforce and weakens our community.

Work Ready Oklahoma helps meet the need for a strong workforce by:

  • Prescreening and assessing all potential candidates
  • Providing job training and mentoring
  • Providing post-placement support
  • Teaching workplace soft skills (professionalism, communication, responsibility, etc.)
  • Matching candidates based on skills, education, and experience


Hiring Through Work Ready Oklahoma

Work Ready Oklahoma offers employers FREE employment services. In addition, by hiring through Work Ready Oklahoma’s reentry program, employers may be able to take advantage of the Worker Opportunity Tax Credit (up to $2,400 per hire) or the Federal Bonding Program.
